Vogue - Component 2     notes:  Betty Friedan - feminist from  the 60s.  FRONT PAGE  VOGUE MAGAZINE - SOPHIA LOREN - Photographed by Davis Bailey - promotion shot for Lady L - she is dressed as a Turkish dancer  - In comparison to the contemporary vogue covers, this 1965 cover has very little text, that is at the bottom right, and the colour of the font matches with her blue outfit. Also the masthead is in green and slightly overlaps with her outfit, whereas in the modern versions there's more contrast between the masthead and the image.  Attitudes in the 60s - women, gender, society, fashion, etc.  https://www.historycentral.com/sixty/Americans/WOMEN.html#:~:text=Women%20who%20did%20not%20get,and%20a%20well%2Drun%20home. 1  Summarise the  key change in social attitudes  to gender  that happened in the  1960s  , as well as changes to the  economy ,consumer goods, travel.food and  culture such as fashion and music These key changes  could include :   • Increased opportunities for wo
Exam Question plan  Genre, Conventions and Representation context 60s - 2nd wave of feminism, women started to get more rights - contraceptive laws, abortion laws, equal pay laws, Soviet union launches first woman in space - Valentina Tereshkova; representation: - stereotypically women are the victims and men are the attackers; however there is a submissive man held by the co-antagonist, therefore suggesting a stereotype subversion and a woman with more power/dominance - V. Zoonen - the first female character is a victim and is being supported by the vampire, therefore conforming to gender stereotypes however the co-antagonist is holding the unconscious man ( this type of character would be demonised as it portrays a woman dominating a man, which is symbolical for the time as women were protesting for their rights) the male vampire is supposed to be the antagonist due to his monster persona, however he is holding the woman and protecting himself and maybe her from the bat, so Steve Ne
Statement of Aims The magazine I will be making is called Chiasso (meaning: noise in Italian), as the mainstream magazine focuses on political topics such as feminism, but also fashion and lifestyle; the word "noise" suggests raising awareness which is one of the themes in the magazine. I believe that this magazine would target the ABC1 demographic between the ages of 16 to 25. Topics such as fashion and feminism would predominantly target a female audience. Cover lines mentioning the Oscars covers the fashion and glamour theme of the magazine, and so does the feature article "21st Century Snow White", as it will speak about a new artist, music and female representation in the media. The rest of the cover lines also will cover other social issues like body autonomy, homophobia and feminism but still relate them to pop culture and lifestyle. I will have a monochrome colour palette of mainly black and white, in order to make the magazine appear more sophisticated and
Magazine Article  Overall Idea: The video is similar to the Narrative of The Love witch - maniacal, delusional - as the song in the video is about a serial killer (Lana Del Rey - Serial Killer); However it will be connected to the fairy tale Sow white; my character is Snow White but a serial killer version, instead of the evil queen poisoning her with an apple, snow white will be poisoning (ill-intentioned) men she encounters with these apples. SW gets away with the murders.  Themes of article: power dynamics between genders, stereotypes on gender, fairy tales upholding gender stereotypes; subversion 0f gender stereotypes Names for the article:       Modern Day Snow White: Hero or a Villain? 21st Century Snow White: Who is the fairest of them all? The villain never needed saving, never needed to be saved by a man, maybe that's why she was evil? Threatening the gender dynamic, threatening men's power with her femme fatale persona it's what made her evil.  The 19th century G
Plan 2 - Change of song - Coursework I found an original video for Carmen - Lana del Rey, so I need to change the song. Lana's songs have similar themes so I wouldn't need to change the narrative completely, and i could still apply my analysis of the Lolita references in her songs.  Songs that have similar concepts to Carmen and have no original music video are: Art Deco and Serial Killer. New Song: Serial Killer by Lana Del Rey Timings : 00:00-00:28;  00:40-02:17; 02:26-02:37;  02:51-03:14; 03:25- I can still apply my analysis of the Lolita references; I also had researched The Love Witch, Girl Interrupted and Basic Instinct, and Malena, so I can still use that as well. Lyrics analysis: Wish I may, wish I might? - a children's song, evoking innocence/naivety - Lolita reference Find my one true love tonight  - troubled by the need of fulfilment and a significant other - chase Do you think that he could be you? - desperation, sociopathic tendencies If I pray really tight

Article Draft   Wolves in Hollywood - title Ideas:  The video is about the mistreatment and over-sexualisation of women in the film and music industry. The artists is a feminist and expresses her beliefs in the video; my main inspirations for the plot were Marilyn Monroe and Joan Collins - Marilyn Monroe had warned   Joan collins - " Watch out for the wolves in Hollywood, honey" Harvey Weinstein - sexual abuse of actresses, assistants, etc; covered it up with money, "false allegations" ; victims - Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Asia Argento, Kate Beckinsale, Cate Blanchett, Cara Delevigne Weinstein didn't have to admit his sexual misconduct allegations as he paid a 25 million dollar settlement. therefore the actress and model Emily Ratajkowski expressed her opinion at the premier of Uncut Gems in Hollywood. He is serving a 23 year sentence - found guilty of rape and sexual harassment; detained in Wende correctional facility in NY. Me Too Movement - i could
